A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 20 September 2011 was signed by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (GOI), represented by Dr. Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, Head of the President’s Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring and Oversight (UKP4) and Chair of the National REDD+ Task Force (NRTF) and the United Nations System (UN System), represented by UNDP Administrator Helen Clark on behalf of the Secretary-General.
In this MOU, the Parties agreed to the legal framework regarding the activities to be undertaken by the UN System through UNORCID. The MOU also defines the role of UNORCID as primary point of contact on REDD+ between the NRTF and the UN System.
Article 7 of the MOU lines out that any UN agency, fund or programme that wishes to become party to the MOU shall do so in writing by an exchange of letters between Indonesia and the respective UN agency, fund or programme, with a copy sent to the Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
